Derby Day: Mint Julep Cocktail Recipe

Classic Mint Julep

Ingredients
  

  • 4-5 leaves mint
  • 1/2 oz simple syrup (or two sugar cubes)
  • 2.5 oz bourbon
  • crushed ice

Instructions
 

  • Add mint leaves and sugar into glass and muddle to release the oil + aromas of mint. If using sugar cubes, muddle until dissolved. If using simple syrup, muddle until the mint leaves are crushed and saturated in the syrup.
  • Add bourbon, fill glass with crushed ice and stir until the glass becomes frosty.
  • Top with extra crushed ice if needed, garnish with a mint leave, and enjoy!
