A note from the brewer: ESB really stirs up the feels for us. Early in our beer drinking days, beers like Fuller’s ESB, Newcastle Brown, Bass Ale, and locally – Yards ESA, really stood out from all the macro lagers, firstly just by the depth of their color. That rich color, coming from complex malt notes, so balanced with subtly fruity British yeast character and assertive, but refined UK hops – all showed us a type of beer that seemed so special, so complex, but at the same time so subtle. It was one of the early styles of beer that really hooked us into this world.

Instant Past was brewed with a nice mix of British Maris Otter, crystal malt, and a sprinkle of black malt; hopped with a good bit of East Kent Goldings and some other favourite European hops; and fermented with our trusty British ale yeast. It has notes of freshly dried figs, multigrain toast, an austere citrus marmalade, some cut wood, just tilled earth, and that quintessential moreishness. This one really makes us happy 🙂
