A note from the vineyard: Medium in body; firm yet supple up front with juicy black cherry tones; the tannins broaden in the middle, melding with succulent blackberry and red currant fruit along with notes of licorice root and cracked pepper, and giving way to vibrant yet polished edges; the wine tapers and softens to the back, drawing into a smooth, layered finish of ripe blueberry and Damsom plum, caramel, coffee grinds and tobacco.

Food Pairings: Tomato based pizza or pasta, Moroccan-style power bowls, vegetarian paella, Southern-style barbecue ribs, duck breast w. berry coulis.
