July Beer Feature: Collective Arts

Introducing our monthly beer feature, Collective Arts! This brewery (and distillery) fuses the creativity of craft beverages with the inspired talents of artists from around the world. Every three months, the brewery rotates the labels on their cans to showcase new artwork from emerging artists. Not only does the packaging stand out, the contents shine as well! Each sip is bursting with flavor and unlike anything we’ve ever had before! We love the diversity and unique palate of each creation. This month we’re highlight seven beers from their core collection – here’s what Collective Arts has to say about each one:

Ransack (IPA): Galaxy, Mosaic, and Citra hops deliver aromas and flavours of tropical fruits, mango and citrus. Light malt body lets the hops shine through, and finishes crisp but not bitter. A delicious, hemispheric hop mashup!

Stranger Than Fiction (Porter): A full-bodied porter with plenty of roast flavour with hints of molasses. Ridiculous amounts of chocolate and pale ale malts make this porter a smooth and creamy brew.

Guava Gose (Gose):  Pouring a beautiful soft cloudy pink and smelling of a tropical vacation, our Guava Gose is like a sour mashed wheat beer dosed with the largest batch of guava we could get away with. The base Gose has a balanced lemony tartness from the presence of malted wheat, Himalayan pink sea salt and coriander with a flowery bright smoothness from guava. The end result is a perfect balance of tart, sweet, and sour, leaving you refreshed and wanting more.

Good Monster (New England Double IPA): A beast, but not in a “lurking in the shadows, evil” kind of way; in a “flavour explosion, delicious hops,” GOOD Monster kind of way! Double dry hopped with 24g/L of Mosaic, Citra, Simcoe and Amarillo; notes of tropical mango and passionfruit, juicy peach, and bright orange, lemon, and grapefruit shine!

Hazy State (Session IPA): This hugely flavourful, yet extremely sessionable Double Dry-Hopped IPA is made with 16 grams per litre of Amarillo, Citra, Mosaic and Centennial hops. Citrus and Tropical fruit notes dominate, but is also balanced with a smooth body that makes this one super easy drinking IPA.

Jam Up The Mash (Dry Hopped Sour): After the never ending battle between the hop heads and sour lovers we decided to appease the two. Using Vic Secret, Mosaic, and Citra hops this brew is juicy, sour and extremely refreshing. Sour and hops in perfect, thirst quenching, harmony!

Berry Banana Smoothie (Sour Series): Our Smoothie Sour is back. We might not be able to say this beer is exactly healthy, but we put all the good-for-you ingredients into this legitimate breakfast-esque beer. Berries, Banana, Granola and Milk sugar, all heightened with bright acidity.

Mai Tai (Sour Series): Inspired by the flavours of the classic tropical cocktail, this sour is brewed with curaçao orange peel, lime juice, and real orgeat syrup. Made with Strata, Vic Secret, and Galaxy Hops, our Mai Tai Sour brings in the freshness of fruity citrus notes, an almond and spice background, and a whole lot of fun!
